The International Advocacy thematic working group is meant to develop plans and strategies to raise visibility, advocate for the recognition of the rights and well-being of ethnic peoples in the post-accord period and to coordinate with other thematic groups to address issues facing Indigenous and Afro-descendant people around priority issues. It is expected that the members of this group will pool resources and develop strategies for related to efforts such as: proposing policy statements related to the ethnic chapter for respective national governments; organizing or supporting virtual panels on issues related to ethnic peoples rights and priorities; disseminating information, coordinating global-level media campaigns, and engaging in diplomatic and institutional efforts, among other forms of advocacy. The “Humanitarian Accord” is one of the main projects that could be taken up at the outset
We have been able to establish five thematic working groups that work on specific issues related to the implementation of The Ethnic Chapter.
