ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) People and Talent Program, through the NORDIK Institute at Algoma University, invites applications for a Research Assistant internship position. The NOHFC People and Talent Program aims to strengthen Northern Ontario’s competitive advantage and build economic development capacity by attracting and retaining graduates in the North.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The project, titled “Glocal: International Wellbeing and Regenerative Sustainability Leader Development Intervention,” is a mixed-methods study that explores the impact of leader development on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an international context. The study involves virtual leader development, the crafting and implementation of individual and collaborative SDG goals, and cross-cultural dialogues with business leaders and students from the US, Canada, Austria, and Spain.

LOCATION: Sault Ste. Marie, ON
SALARY: $20.00/hour, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be eligible for funding individuals must:

Have a valid driver’s license and ability/willingness to travel within Northern Ontario;

Have access to a personal vehicle that can be used in this role;

Be willing to work from NORDIK’s office, located at Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie

Be new entrants into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or be unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field;

Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship;

Be at least 18 years of age; and

Reside, and be legally entitled to work, in Canada (e.g., citizen or permanent resident).
