The International Advocacy thematic working group is meant to develop plans and strategies to raise visibility, advocate for the recognition of the rights and well-being of ethnic peoples in the post-accord period and to coordinate with other thematic groups to address issues facing Indigenous and Afro-descendant people around priority issues. It is expected that the members of this group will pool resources and develop strategies for related to efforts such as: proposing policy statements related to the ethnic chapter for respective national governments; organizing or supporting virtual panels on issues related to ethnic peoples rights and priorities; disseminating information, coordinating global-level media campaigns, and engaging in diplomatic and institutional efforts, among other forms of advocacy.
